The committee are pleased to announce that we have appointed Quattro Design Architects of Gloucester to take the extension project to completion.

Notes of the Regular Users Meeting held on Monday 6th Oct to discuss the extension have been added to the Regular Users page.

We have added a new request to the list of volunteering opportunities at the Village Hall the Tithe Barn. We would like some advise from an interior designer. Thank you to all those who have volunteered, we really appreciate your help. Of the initial list of the original 19 tasks listed 6 have now been addressed. Thank you.

Welcome back to Heroes and Villains line dancing starting on Tuesday 30th September (with a few exceptions please check first)

THANK YOU! The Bishop's Cleeve and District Camber of Commerce have made us a gift of £300 towards the extension fund from the proceeds of this years very successful  1940's Street Fair. We would like to say thank you, we are grateful for the encouragement and support.

Good home wanted for the tables in The Long Room (Room 5)

We are replacing the tables in the Long Room with new folding tables and so have 16 wooden tables to go to a good home. If you are interested or know of a good home please contact the Chairman through the contact us page. The tables are 35.5" by 26.75" by 29.25" high.

Project Manager appointed. The trustees have appointed Mr Martin Ryder to act as project manger and quantity surveyor for the extension project. They are now in the process of selecting an architect to take the project to completion.

Planning Permission was GRANTED on 23 July 2008 for the extension to the Tithe Barn along with LISTED BUILDING consent. This will allow us to provide inclusive access with a lift and other facilities. More information see the Extension page

ARCHAEOLOGY

In preparation for our application for planning permission for the extension we had to have an archaeological survey undertaken. We paid for Gloucestershire Architectural Services to to do the survey and you will have seen the two pits they dug by the front door, though we managed to get them covered over in time for this years very successful street fair.

The result of the survey was that they found only one small sherd of abraded Roman pottery weighing 6 grams. We have subsequently donated the Roman sherd to Cheltenham Museum.

SUPPORT of the ARTS in GLOUCESTERSHIRE

The Village Hall has upgraded its chairs and the old ones have been given to Bill Cronshaw's Dreamshed Theatre Company for the new theatre venue that Bill is setting up in the Fountain Pub in Gloucester.

If we are successful in the new Vital Villages initiative that is currently being proposed by Air in G, then the Dreamshed Theatre company will be our partner in the venture. More details as we know them.
