“May I thank everyone involved at the Tithe Barn for the wonderful service that we have received, and what a pleasure it was to come to such a lovely building with all the amenities.  When booking an event for a large number of children it is important that everything goes smoothly, and we had a wonderful day yesterday. The girls were all happy and because the main hall is upstairs, it was safer for the younger ones. From the first enquiry right through to yesterday, everyone was so helpful, and I must just mention your booking secretary who has bent over backwards to help us. Please pass on our thanks to everyone.

VANDALISM! I am sorry to have to report that we have had two nights of children getting into the kitchen and damaging the kitchen units and throwing food about. If you can please can you either lock the door when all your members are in or have someone on the door during your event it would be good. We could start locking the kitchen and giving keys to users. Is that a solution you could work with? The Police have been informed and we have been given an incident number. The promised to increase patrols for the next few evenings. Contact me with your commetns and suggestions.

» WE HAVE COME TO THE END OF PHASE 1. The builders have left the site and it looks amazing!  We are now in the throws of finding more money to finish the job. Meanwhile we can not use the new building. We are going to show people round and encourage them to see the vision to complete the job. If you have any ideas how we might raise the money, and if you would like to be shown round Phase 1, please send us an email.

Apologies, but the caretaker has to go into hospital for an operation on Friday 12th February and is unlikely to be back by Monday 15th March. We will do our best to keep the Barn tidy and running, but it might not be as clean as normal. We are not sure exactly when he will be back but we will keep you informed. Thank you for your patience.

» DO YOU CARE ABOUT THE BUILDING? Would you like to help keep the Barn in good repair? Do you love old buildings? Do you have some basic experience of buildings? Jim Stevenson has been doing an amazing job in looking after the Barn over the last few years but now needs to step down. We need someone who  will manage the maintenance, meet with local tradesmen to show then what needs to be done, and keep the maintenance plan up to date.  We are not necessarily looking for someone to do DIY, but we are looking for someone to give no more than a couple of hours per week on average and to take responsibility, along with the management committee, for the maintenance of the Barn. If you are interested please contact John Beattie on 01242 672089.

» THE HISTORY OF THE BARN We want to make the most of out history and make it accessible to more people. Please have a look at our plans on the History link on the left or click here. If you are interested in the history of the Tithe Barn or of Bishop's Cleeve please get in touch with us. email us now. You may have noticed that there are some interesting pictures of the village in the main hall, what you may not have realised is that they are changed regularly. So next time you are in the main hall have another look. Thanks to Jim Stevenson for the provision of the pictures and for changing them.

» TRUSTEES As the extension progresses, we need new trustees to help us run the Tithe Barn. It is part of our build heritage and we are privileged to be able to use it for a village hall, but it doesn't run itself. We are all volunteers who give a little time to this. It is not a life sentence, you can say how much time you are prepared to give, but the more people who contribute the less each has to do. Please see our volunteering page for more details.
