WEDDING RECEPTIONS
The Tithe Barn makes a great venue for your wedding reception. We are not licensed to undertake the wedding itself, but as a venue for your reception is it superb.
The Main Hall has Cotswold Stone walls, an Oak beam ceiling and a sprung maple wood floor. It is 20m by 9m and can accommodate 150 people, but we would recommend about 120 if you want to sit to table.
We have tables and chairs for 150, although many people hire in chairs in gold or with white covers, since ours are black polypropylene.
We do not recommend caterers but many in the area have done weddings at the Tithe Barn and can advise you. If you want a buffet, some people use the long room as the servery since it has doors at either end and is next to the bar. Please see the facilities page for details of the kitchen.
The bar is run by the licensee who has sole rights for the sale of alcohol, dinks and corkage for the Tithe Barn. If you would like a bar for your reception please discuss this directly with the licensee, Mr Tom Madden on 10452 700392.
To book the barn see the booking page, where you will find a link to the fees and other information

Note for 2009 weddings
The 15th Century Tithe Barn is a superb venue for a wedding reception, but we should point out that the main hall is on the first floor which is only accessible by stairs. Because of this lack of suitable access, during 2009 we are planning to build an extension to house a lift to provide inclusive access. This will not affect the use of the main hall, but may mean you have to use an alternative door to the main front door for access to the hall. We are not sure of dates yet since although we have gained planning permission we are still in the planning and tendering stage, we will let you know as soon as we know. It could be that it has no effect on your booking whatsoever, however, there may be scaffolding on the south end of the building, but these works will not affect any of the use of any of the current rooms at all, since the extension we are building is to the south end only. We will not break through to the main hall and the rest of the current building until the extension is finished, and we would of course consider our timing relative to all bookings so as not to spoil anyone's day in any way.
Please remember that your booking is not pencilled into the diary until you have requested a contract and given a postal address to which it is to be sent to, and your booking is not confirmed until you return a signed contract with a deposit cheque. The deposit cheque is banked but will be returned after your event. The full fee is then due three weeks before the event. For more details see the How to Book page.
